Frequently Asked Questions
As long as windows aren’t being replaced we can remodel any interior space year round. However, time is irrelevant when discussing interior remodeling. We use special equipment to manage dust and vapors, so we can remodel your home no matter the season.
Your project’s timeline depends on the space you want to renovate. The average time for kitchen remodeling is one month. The average time for bathrooms is about three weeks.
No. We only ask that someone be available by phone throughout the work day. Some clients prefer to hand us the keys before leaving for work, while others stick around to see our progress. We welcome both!
Before we get to work, we’ll make sure to seal the worksite and install dust mitigation to protect other areas of your home from dust and debris. We install floor and carpet protection on all traffic areas. We leave the area in a broom-clean condition at the end of each day, and conduct a thorough cleaning at the end of the project.
We submit construction plans to the city building inspector’s office during the design and proposal phase to ensure everything is pre-approved and there are no surprises. We have a great relationship with all of the city offices, and will be present for all city inspections. No City Hall headaches for you!
I started Mortise & Miter in 2018, but have worked in the project management, construction, and design industry for over two decades. I developed my tactical approach to remodeling design and construction over this time, and once it was perfected I broke-out on my own!

Yes! Your one-year warranty on all labor begins once we hand over your new space. For third-party manufacturer warranties (for example: appliances) we will continue to assist you and act as your representative with the manufacturer. You’ll also get a follow-up from us at 2 weeks, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years to make sure you’re still happy with your remodel.
